The Edge of Winter captures Alpe di Siusi at the fragile boundary between two seasons, when autumn has not yet surrendered, but winter has already begun to claim the land. Patches of snow spread across the rolling meadows while traces of autumn still breathe through the exposed earth and golden larches, creating a landscape suspended between warmth and cold.

Above it all, the monumental peaks of the Dolomites rise into a restless evening sky. The last light of sunset slips through the clouds in scattered fragments, touching distant slopes, trees, and snow with brief flashes of gold. Instead of illuminating the entire landscape, the light chooses only a few places to reveal—as if saying farewell before disappearing behind the mountains.

Created by blending several photographs, the wide panorama allows the immense scale of Alpe di Siusi to unfold slowly across the frame.
